If a scuba diving instructor could be built in a laboratory, he would have Jon Jon’s physical and mental attributes. A true LEGEND of the Boracay diving community, he has been teaching for over 20 years. More than a thousand people – from beginners to professionals – have been indelibly marked by his adherence to excellence and boundless enthusiasm.

Debbie discovered her calling when she first set foot on Boracay in 1995. Only on this island was she able to combine her zeal for scuba diving, environmental conservation, and teaching as a profession. She served as president of the Boracay Association of Scuba Diving Schools (BASS) for four years – spearheading many projects for the benefit of the marine environment, as well as the diving community as a whole.

Even though Robert has officially retired as a diving instructor, his interest in the underwater world will never be diminished. This website is his love letter to scuba diving, and to Boracay in particular – where he spent his heyday sharing his knowledge and passion with his students from all around the world. Nowadays, he spends more time on dry land but still uses his expertise to promote safe diving practices.

TRUST

After fourteen years, I finally set foot on the island I once called home for several years. As fate would have it, this homecoming also brought two old friends and me together, AGAIN.

Even if it was a family vacation, my wife and kids were gracious in giving us three friends time to bond. When the children decided they would love to try scuba diving, it came down to TRUST.

As a former PADI dive instructor and a certified PADI and IANTD technical diver, trusting my children with other dive professionals was not going to be easy. But these two friends, Jon Jon and Debbie, I know them extremely well. Trusting my children was not only about friendship but more because of their capability and abilities.

From of this remarkable reunion, Boracay Scuba Diving Safety was born.
