There are only a few PADI five star dive centers in Boracay Island, one of which is our partner - Aqualife Divers Academy.
AQUALIFE DIVERS ACADEMY
Amidst the hundreds of resorts and other commercial establishments, there are also over 40 dive centers in Boracay Island. Despite having the PADI logo, not all are members of the prestigious diver training organization. In choosing a partner, we have to take track record into consideration.
With two decades of experience behind us, we picked Aqualife Divers Academy as our partner in promoting and conducting safe and fun-filled diver education and experience programs.
Our decision is not only because Aqualife is a PADI five star dive center. Founded in 1994, the owner Salvador Bondoc is not only a dive instructor, but he was also one of the founders of the Boracay Association of Scuba Diving Schools (BASS). As such, he has served the interest of the Boracay scuba diving industry, not only in safety but also in the conservation of our marine environment.
Unlike hotel ratings where it is dependent on amenities, there are no 1, 2, 3, or 4-star ratings with PADI. For a dive center to receive accreditation, they have to maintain a certain set of standards. It is only by offering a full range of PADI diver education and programs that a dive center could become a member of the PADI family.
Besides courses and experience programs, dive centers could take it up a notch by becoming active in the local community. So, besides having trained more higher levels of scuba divers including professionals, earning the five-star rating from PADI is also dependent on how a dive center influences the conservation of the aquatic environment, as well as bringing positive changes to the local area.
